Race history
The 5K began in 1997.
The Foundation’s records trace the race to the first annual Kristin Burkholder Memorial 5K Walk/Run, held in August 1997. The first 6 events, through 2002, produced $37,665 in net proceeds for scholarship work.
The 2002 event drew 317 participants and produced $9,270 in net proceeds.
